Why Students Should Blog

There are many reasons why students should blog!  But the one that stands out to me the most is the fact that my children are creating an open archive of learning.  By blogging, they are writing their own portfolios from which I can look at anytime, anywhere without the worry of keeping papers together or losing something important.  I can see their growth over time.  It is also a big advantage for my end of the year evaluation when I have to show documentation of student growth and examples of students' work.  Printing off all or part of their blogs would show the documentation that I need.  Blogging is beneficial to students and to teachers.
